Philadelphia headshot locations.

We will use 4-6 backdrops at any given location. We’ll try new locations from time to time, but these are our staples. Since light and weather always play a factor, we cannot guarantee backdrops.

South Street/Bella Vista (Chapterhouse Cafe)

This location in Bella Vista is just off South Street between South Philly and Old City. It’s great for a lot of things: it has a nice neighborhood feel; the Magic Garden mosaics are possible for a backdrop (if the light is right); plus there is a hacienda Mexican-y feel in one nook. Also, if you’re driving, it’s fairly easy parking in the neighborhood (or meters on South Stree).

Italian Market/ South Philly (Anthony’s Coffee House)

Headshots at the Italian Market anyone? It’s all day hustle and bustle with colors, sounds and smells! We will literally be traipsing around the same stalls that our ancestors did 100 years ago. Rocky also ran though this stretch of 9th Street on his morning runs! (Park on Washington or 9th without too much difficulty.)

Fishtown (Gryphon Cafe)

Join me at Gryphon for the silkiest light in town. We may shoot in their ancient courtyard which acts as natural softbox or under the El train which has equally dramatic light and fabulous urban shadows. With sky high ceilings, cracked walls and windows everywhere, I'm tempted to shoot indoors too. (Parking is simple, close and available.)

West Philly (Walnut Street Cafe)

This cafe at the bottom of the FMC skyscraper near the University of Pennsylvania is my favorite spot for headshots in West Philly. The cafe is high-end but casual with outstanding French food. But most important is what's outside. The studio quality light from the environs make for the most eye-popping, wrinkle-free headshots! It has a very urban industrial feel, plus a cool tunnel gives us our signature “SNL”-style headshots. (Street parking is occasionally available on Walnut, but a ride would be simpler.)

Center City/ Rittenhouse (J’aime French Bakery)

J’aime is our Center City location, nearest to Rittenhouse Square. It’s situated on a low key block but don’t let that fool you, you will be floored by your headshots. Be prepared to buy the top package, everyone does. Afterwards, grab lunch. (Seriously, the best pastries, quiche and baguettes in town!)
